Gourmet spices are well-known for adding great aromatic tastes to food, but they are also wonderful to use in making scrumptious desserts such as the famous Cinnamon Streudel Cake which is delicious. Which child of all ages does not love the smell and taste of gingerbread? Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsey makes a fantastic spiced apple dessert in which he uses cinnamon, star anise and cloves, pepper, Chinese-5-spice and vanilla. Cinnamon and cardamom buns are favourites with us for afternoon tea on a Sunday, and what would Boston Cream Pie be without vanilla? If you want to try something different with your spices, serve up gourmet Gingerbread Cupcakes with Cardamom cream frosting – the cardamom is a wondrously fragrant spice which blends very well with the gingerbread and is great comfort food; for those who are not partial to cardamom, allspice or cinnamon can be used instead. Eat these with a nice hot cup of Chai Tea and you will be warm to your little toe.
